Professional Experience
Michael started his career as one of the first case managers in the state of Ohio and was recognized by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) as their first Case Manager of the Year. This experience shaped his approach to service and leadership.
Throughout the early days of his career, Michael helped develop and supervise a crisis stabilization unit and one of the first emergency service assessment centers in the area. He was a Regional Director for a national therapeutic foster care organization and was a clinician in private practice.

Leadership Experience
In 1993, Michael held his first CEO position and led his organization through a strategic merger of four providers to become a regional care provider. He went on to lead two additional provider organizations through 2015 when he merged his center with the local health system to enhance integrated whole-person care. He has served on multiple boards of directors and national accreditation advisory boards and foundations.
Awards And Recognitions
Michael has been recognized as a Behavioral Health Champion by Behavioral Healthcare Executive Magazine. In addition, under his leadership, his previous organizations were recipients of the Mental Health Corporations of America's (MHCA) National Honor of Best Practices for Case Management Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) Science and Service Award for Prevention Programs.

Educational Background
Michael has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) specializing in Community Counseling from the University of Akron, Akron Ohio. He also completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Administration at the University of Findlay, Findlay Ohio. Finally, Michael holds the highest level of clinical licensure in counseling as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
